Who we are

Established in 2016, Nineteen Degrees draws on over 15 years of independent experience working in the educational travel and development sectors in Asia and university global mobility offices in Australia. We deliver tailor made faculty-led placements for undergraduate students and absolutely love what we do!

With a focus on collaboration and delivering positive social impact throughout Cambodia, Northern Laos, Thailand and Northern Vietnam we work at the heart of the communities we operate in.

We operate as a social enterprise to offer both an affordable and ethical service to Australian tertiary students whilst ensuring sustainable partnerships for change in all the destinations we work in. Our staff aren’t incentivized by commissions, KPIs or bonuses and all of our programs are community-led, meaning that all decisions have been planned with the community involved.

We are passionate about social justice and working inclusively with the community groups we have committed to support. Our ultimate goal is to remove barriers that prevent access to a sustainable income, quality health care and education and listen to our partners and what they need. We are innovative and creative and hope our curiosity to learn never stops and hope that we can share our passion with as many young Australians as possible.

We are a WASEC endorsed social enterprise, a registered partner of ReThink Orphanages who strive to end global orphanage voluntourism and an active International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) member.

who we work with

We currently work with over 10 Universities across Australia as true partners to develop, operate and monitor their learning abroad programs.

“I really enjoy working with Nineteen Degrees. I like to know I am being listened to and getting responses in a timely manner to my requests. The field studies run so much more smoothly with Fiona and her team.”
