how we support you

We currently have multiple third-party agreements in place with top Universities across the country. There are many reasons Universities have chosen to outsource to a third-party provider, including:

  • One-point of contact for your learning abroad program for a streamlined and coordinated approach.

  • Specialisation of our programs in health and community internships which increases our understanding of University practicum requirements and student needs.

  • Existing partnerships including hospitals, health clinics, NGOs, community organisations, accommodation providers, saving time and organisation. With this comes detailed knowledge of placements through years of engagement and regular travel to the regions.

  • Familiarity with global mobility offices which allows us to pre-empt requirements and reduce pressure through additional support and resources.

  • The extensive Pre-Departure program has been developed and is accessible via LMS thereby reducing the amount of preparation required by you.

  • Ability to access discounted group flights in advance for peace of mind.

  • Cultural expertise in your selected destination for a smoother experience.

  • 24/7 in-country support to staff and students before, during and after placement.

  • Confirmation that we have adequate registration and insurance requirements.

  • Student recruitment marketing assistance if required.

Interprofessional Placements

There are so many benefits of interprofessional placements such as simulating a real-life holistic working environment, Peer-To-Peer learning opportunities, or to promote problem solving and diverse ways of thinking and teamwork.

We recommend that interprofessional placements are best paired with nursing. Universities are then encouraged to determine the best supervision requirements.

Do you have an agreement with my University?

We have multiple Third-Party agreements with leading Australian Universities. It’s best to check with your University International Office to determine if we are an approved provider. If not, we are more than happy to complete an application.

Are your projects in destinations that are considered safe by DFAT?

Yes, we abide by DFAT’s risk ratings.

How do you manage risk?

We develop strict risk assessments for every placement and exercise mitigations at every stage. More details will be provided once a client has commenced a placement with us.

I haven't run an international program for my faculty before, where do I start?

First of all, welcome to the word of learning abroad! We have listed the entire process of planning a program on the ‘How It Works’ page. Each University has their own processes, so it is best to check with your Global Mobility office first.

Does this program receive academic credit?

Yes, all of our programs are designed in partnership with a University faculty or school according to their requirements and the desired learning outcomes.

Do you provide support in completing New Colombo Plan applications for this program?

Yes, we are able to assist in completion of a New Colombo Plan funding application however ultimately the application will need to be submitted by the University and not Nineteen Degrees. Some universities have internal due dates that are well in advance of the New Colombo Plan due date so it’s best to check with your International Office to ensure the funding application is submitted on time.

Are there limits (min and max participants) to what you can do?

Minimum is 10, maximum ideally is 20 – however this is destination dependant and according to ratios of staff to students (University specific).
